UPTOWN VINTAGE APARTMENT
THE CHALLENGE
This beautifully proportioned 1920’s era vintage apartment overlooking the park was a diamond in the rough. It had been decades since the last remodel, and had sat vacant for several years. Luckily the mostly original apartment layout was perfectly proportioned, but every square inch needed some love to bring it back to its former glory.
THE SOLUTION
The kitchen and bathrooms were gutted, and while the layouts were retained, the cabinetry, tiles and countertops were changed. We retained as much of the original trim, doors and floors as we could, but updated the door hardware, light fixtures and windows. The dropped ceiling in the kitchen was also removed to increase the ceiling height and allow for additional storage. Our design choices throughout pay homage to the era of the beautiful building that this apartment is located in, and the grand scale of the original rooms makes for a very enjoyable experience for its new owners.
