In this second collaboration with a client who had outgrown their city home and moved north, we had even more fun than the first Kitchens are the hub of the home — more often than not, the central gathering place for social gatherings. Gone are the days when kitchens were intentionally tucked away, purely serving as a functional space for meal preparations and food storage. Today’s kitchens are front and center. Kitchen islands are often a magnet when entertaining. They are also a natural work space when working from home. Not all kitchens, however, are show-worthy or functional. Small dark spaces, bottlenecks in front of stoves, awkward circulation space, inadequate storage, cabinet doors falling off their hinges — we’ve seen them all!
