Meet Jenny and Staff from Urban Source Chicago

jennifer rossignuolo – co-founder and owner

Jenny's shining career in interior design developed early. After graduating at the top of her class in Melbourne, Australia, she spent four years in residential design, including two years as a designer of high-end modern custom kitchens for Domus Kitchens. Praise for her work ranged from profiles in design publications to a prestigious design award given by her peers.

Having caught the travel bug that she couldn’t seem to shake off, Jenny decided to move to London in 1998. From there she explored Europe's rich cultures, histories and architecture while gaining international experience in both commercial and residential design. But no sooner had she left Australia that she met her husband at a train station in Verona. A whirlwind long distance romance ensued before Jenny relocated to Chicago in 2000, her husband's hometown.

Jenny’s personal design style is vibrant, modern and edgy, though she welcomes the challenge to stray beyond her personal style and enjoys working on projects that lean more transitional and eclectic. She believes that great design should be a collaboration between the client and designer and that the end result should reflect the homeowners sense of style.

In early 2011, Jenny began the long process of launching a new line of architecturally-inspired bags called Mooya. The bags are available online at www.mooyabags.com, as well as at Urban Source and other specialty retailers.  When not at work, Jenny loves hanging out with her husband and dogs Prince and Albie, going for long walks through Chicago’s diverse neighborhoods, honing her painting and sewing skills, cooking, dining out and of course traveling. She also hopes to find the time to write a novel about her storybook romance!

anne hurley – showroom manager

Since joining our team in 2013, Anne has become our showroom powerhouse. Whether you are looking for an obscure pattern, need expedited shipping, or have a complicated order- Anne handles every situation with a smile and good sense of humor.

We are starting to think that there is literally nothing she can’t handle. This probably has something to do with the fact that she is on a first name basis with all of our wallpaper and fabric vendors. And we can’t forget about her impressive administrative skills, impeccable memory, and her steadfast personality.

When Anne isn’t running the showroom, she loves to travel. She has taken adventurous trips across the US, exploring and hiking in the national parks of the west coast.

Anne also has lots to do right here in Chicago, including spending quality time with her partner. She savors time spent dining with family, friends, and a good bottle of wine. We also love Anne for her big heart, especially the soft spot she has for anything with 4 legs, including (of course!) her cat Zeke.

april noga – design and marketing

April is our showroom designer. She is available for meetings in our showroom or for more indepth private design consultations. We also rely on her great taste because she curates all of the patterns that we have on our showroom floor.

April loves working with our independent studios to make sure our clients stay up to date on the latest and greatest products. Having graduated from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, she works in both the art world and the design industry. This makes her passionate about the design processes AND the craftmenship that goes in to every pattern. She can tell you anything you want to know about how our wallpapers and textiles are actually made. She just launched her own independent design studio, Prillamena, which features hand drawn patterns on interior fabrics.

April also handles our markerting and social media, this includes: our blog posts, newsletters, facebook, instagram, and pinterest pages.

When she is not helping us with marketing or working on her design studio, April spends her time making art work. She regularly shows her work in galleries and performance spaces around the country. Being immersed in the Chicago art community, she also curates a bi-monthly art event and teaches workshops.
